Winning design unveiled Blackpool, England
The winning design for the transformation of St John's precinct in Blackpool town centre was a hugely popular choice, according to council figures.
Designers Leit Werk were named the council's preferred choice for the work, after a long meeting at the town hall today (Wednesday).
A council spokesman said: "We will be meeting with the designers next week, but we want to take most elements from their proposal into the final design, although we will be re-examining the seating area.
"They proved by far the most popular choice at the exhibition, and their sculpture design has received a lot of praise.
"It's fantastic that it is really the public that have drawn the conclusion as to their favourite design, and they have a say in the future look of the town centre."
